Greenock Family History: 1847-2000 was written by Nancy Jackson Quaid in the mid 2000s to update and extend The Greenock Record , a family history written by her grandfather John Greenock in the mid 1940s. Presented here is the most complete version of the story I have, with details about living people largely removed. I have included a few extra photographs. Greenock Family History , by Nancy Jackson Quaid Chapter 4: Other Family Members You will note from the attached that we have had numerous names repeated in the Greenock line.  I will be presenting what we know about our direct line first and then will try to make the connections with ‘other family members’.  It is difficult to write one’s findings without getting the names confused.  I apologize in advance if some of this data seems garbled. Joseph Greenock, b. 1773, d. abt. 1848 From  IGI records – Joseph Greenock (born around 1773) married Elizabeth Callander on 5 February 1816 in Glasgow.  These are parents to John Greenock.  This John Greenock (grandfather to our Grandpa) was born around 1819 in Wexford or Cork, Ireland.  I believe Joseph and Elizabeth also had at least two other sons:  Robert and William.  Grandpa mentioned the Peninsular War medal that was awarded to Joseph and listed the bars that indicated some of the campaign...

Greenock Family History , by Nancy Jackson Quaid Chapter 3: John and Flora Greenock and Their Children JOHN GREENOCK   born 28 May 1870 in Glasgow, Scotland   died 19 July 1947 in Des Plaines, Illinois (age 77) FLORA MATILDA TUESNELDA REBMAN   born 29 June 1877 in Shermerville, Illinois   died 17 January 1958 in Chicago, Illinois (age 81) Flora Rebman Greenock & John Greenock wedding photo, June 7, 1899. On the right are attendants Olive Fuchs and William C. Segessenman.  At age 29, John Greenock married Flora Matilda Tuesnelda Rebman, (daughter of Sara Trier Rebman and Jacob John Rebman).  They married 7 June 1899 -- Flora was 22.  Three children were born of this union:  Gertrude Flora, 20 August 1900; Jeanie Helen, born 22 March 1903, and Dorothy Pearl, born 20 October 1905.  All were born in Chicago. JOHN  GREENOCK     born 28 May l870 in Glasgow, Scotland     died 19 July 1947 in Des Plaines, Illinois (age 77) We will be addressing the John Greenock descendancy in Chapter 3 . THOMAS R. GREENOCK     born 7 September 187l in Glasgow, Scotland     died l956 in Indiana (age 85) John and Thomas Greenock, circa 1943 Tom Greenock, Jane Redpath Greenock, John Greenock, Ethel Greenock Cohen, Flora, Jesse Greenock Thomas R. Greenock married Jessie Morgan (born 21 October l873) on 9 June l897 in Chicago. With the help of the Lake County (ILL) Genealogical Society we were able to locate the gravesites of Thomas, Jessie and Ethel (Kohn) Greenock.  They are buried at the Avon Centre Cemetery in Round Lake Beach, IL (which is located just east of Route 83, on the north side of Shorewood Road)....
